Cranmore Meadows is a residential community for tiny-house-on-wheels RVs located on a 30-acre nature preserve near the town of Saxapahaw. We're under active development to provide 13 spots among rolling hills, open meadows, hardwood forest, a spring-fed pond, a working farm, and Haw Creek.

The first phase contains 7 lots and is fully rented. They each have full hookups for water, septic, power, and 2 parking spots. The lots are 8,000SF (about 1/5 acre) each and are fully rented.

Residents can access common areas such as an outdoor pavilion for events, as well as catering kitchen and guest quarters. The second phase (spring 2023) will have room for 6 more lots.

Please note: we are unable to accommodate unscheduled visitors. If you’d like to visit the property, we offer them the first Sunday of each month at 2pm. Use the form below to let us know if you’d like to visit!

Vision

Our vision is a pocket community of 13 spots for tiny houses on wheels and 20+ acres of nature for a wildlife preserve and permaculture farming. We've also renovated an existing barn to serve as a community event space to serve our guests for larger gatherings.

Cranmore Meadows is a community that puts people and planet first and serves as an example of what a more sustainable and interconnected future could look like. We accomplish this by providing accommodations for low-impact mobile housing, alternative green building and other sustainability workshops, community gatherings focused on connecting with the land and each other, and farming practices that enhance ecosystem processes on our land. Every decision we make is guided by putting the health of our land and its inhabitants above all else.

We (Callie Brauel & Nathan Huening) have been living full-time in a 200SF tiny house on wheels since 2016, and love the way that it's enabled us to shed unnecessary belongings, travel more, live simply, focus on what's important, and save money. We'd like other people to have the same opportunity.

We purchased the property in 2018 with the goal of creating a tiny house community to call our own and welcome others who share our desire to live simply and with more intention. In the last 2.5+ years, we've been working closely with county officials, surveyors, soil scientists, engineers, and consultants to pull it off. We're almost ready!
