Overview

The Courier Allocation Engine is an end-to-end logistics optimization system that automates courier and FTL partner selection, shipment tracking, freight calculation and vendor settlement. The MVP replaces manual, error-prone processes with a structured, data-driven workflow that integrates rate masters, serviceability rules, allocation logic and real-time tracking.

The system is built using Lovable’s AI-based code generation, Supabase for backend data, and a clean Vibe-coded UI. It is fully functional and suitable as the foundation for a production-scale logistics intelligence platform.

Problem

Logistics teams typically rely on manual coordination, Excel sheets and individual judgment to determine:

  1. Which courier or FTL partner to assign
  2. Whether the shipment is serviceable
  3. TAT and expected delivery date
  4. Cost based on rate cards
  5. Capacity availability for FTL consolidation
  6. Penalties for delivery delays
  7. Final settlement amounts for vendors

This results in:

  1. Incorrect courier selection
  2. Higher freight cost
  3. Delays due to poor TAT performance
  4. No unified visibility of shipments
