Do you have the courage to share with the public what your working on?

I have been working on technology products for years. It is common to collect feedback and turn the insights of what you gather into backlog items in JIRA for the team to work on. Having items in the backlog does not mean that it is going to be included in the next sprint or even that you have enough information for the development team to act upon.

It would be great if the engaged users of your product could provide feedback that could be processed into JIRA.

Transparency

Sharing the backlog and what is being worked on takes courage. You need to be willing to open up and share. I believe one of the underlying factors to openness is if your team and leaders are playing a finite or infinite game. If you need a primer on this, here is Simon Sinek explaining the concept.

If you would like to dig deeper on the subject there is the book by James Carse who first codified this idea. (Amazon: Finite and Infinite Games)

Sharing your backlog

ProductStash is a tool that lets you share your backlog. Yes, it links to JIRA so your productstash page will stay in sync.

Capturing Ideas

I like that the product includes "Add Ideas" so that engaged users can, with 1 click give you ideas for how to make your product better.

Once an idea has been submitted it is open for other users to Vote on and add their comments to. This encourages community participation and helps to add context.
