The Muysca language is referred to as a "dead" language, but fortunately, there is a wealth of documentation from the Colonial times that offers valuable insights into this fascinating language.
The word "pquyquy" has been translated in these documents to "heart" or "corazón" in Spanish. However, the concept of "pquyquy" encompasses much more. In this game, we’ve chosen a few expressions from an article written by María Stella Gonzáles de Perez, which explores the meaning of "pquyquy."
The characters are based on both the campesino identity from the region and the anthropomorphic works of Muysca goldsmiths. The plants in the game are also native from the region. You can find cubios (Tropaeolum tuberosum), groundcherries (Physalis pubescens), and more.
This game was made to participated in the ConLatinidad 2023 Game Jam sponsored by Google.
