Its that special time again, retroPGF applications!

Last round we got a lot of feedback from those of you in the various Contribution Paths (supNERDs, Ambassadors & Translators). We heard you, and this round we are going to do things a little differently!

Applying as a Project

Each Contribution Path will apply as a project (much the same way we did last round). However, this round we will be working together to make the application.

Steps for working together:

  1. Group call - Drafting our retroPGF application → Each Contribution Path will have a meeting where we will:
    1. Brainstorm clear impact → what impact can we clearly show the Citizen House? What impact have we had since the last retroPGF round (if the path existed)? This will happen in a Figma board during the week of September 25, 2023. The Figma board will be shared at least a day before the call so those who cannot join can still add their thoughts.
    2. Pick the top ideas/concepts that show impact → Collecting all the feedback from the brainstorm we will pull together the top impact measurements for the group.
    3. Go over the other application fields → Discuss the other fields in the application, such as previous funding and descriptions.
    4. Discuss the distribution mechanism for any rewards → How are we going to share the rewards between all the contributors? The lead for each Path will come with 2/3 suggestions to kick off the discussion. After the call the top 3 mechanisms will be put in a poll in the Contribution channel for a vote. The winning mechanism will be used in the final application.
  2. Path lead will submit the application
    1. Once all the details have been decided (during the call and with the vote) the Path lead will submit the Project application for the Path.

Applying as an Individual

Last round we had a few contributors apply as individuals above and beyond the group applications. This caused a bit of confusion for badgeholders, and resulted in some conflict within the groups.

This round we are providing clear guidelines for Path participants to make sure this round is as fair as we can make it.

Lots of people in Contribution Paths are incredibly active contributors outside of their path. The following guidelines have been created to make sure no one is getting rewarded twice for the same work:

  1. Your application must make it clear that you are a part of the Contribution Path Project.
    1. This is also an opportunity for you to say how the Contribution Path has helped you as a contributor. You don’t have to take this step, but the more excited you can make badgeholders about the project the more you help your fellow contributors.
  2. You must clearly show how the impact you are applying with as an individual is different/separate from your work in the Contribution Path.

Failing to disclose these relations will result in your application being removed as you are misleading badgeholders.

What work is “in” your Contribution Path?

For each of the Contribution Paths below we have outlined work that can be reasonably considered both in and outside of the Contribution Path. If you have any questions about this, please bring them up in your Contribution Path Discord channel.

NOTE: If you are “in-training” or a “wannnabe” for a path, then the work you do related to that path cannot be used in an individual application.
