A documentary series tracing the cultural, historical, and spiritual continuities between Haiti and Africa
What This Project Is
Continuity: A Bridge Across the Atlantic is an international documentary series that reframes Haiti within its broader African and diasporic context. The project explores how African identities, spiritual systems, and social structures survived the transatlantic displacement and continue to shape Haitian culture today.
Rather than presenting Haiti in isolation, the series positions it as a convergence point — a place where multiple African histories met, adapted, and endured.
Why This Matters
- Haiti is often discussed through crisis or revolution alone, without its deeper African foundations
- Many African contributions to Haitian culture — particularly from Central Africa — remain underrepresented
- Younger generations of the diaspora are seeking connection, context, and continuity
- This project creates a long-form cultural record that prioritizes accuracy, respect, and depth
Continuity is not about rediscovery — it is about recognition.
