This video was created as part of a trending hand-gesture dance format on TikTok. The trend encouraged creators to perform simple choreography with expressive movements, making it easy for audiences to participate and recreate the format.
I observed that short-form dance trends often perform well when the choreography is simple and visually clear.
To align with the trend, I focused on: • simple hand-gesture choreography • a centered camera frame • a clean background to highlight the movement
To increase discover-ability, I positioned the content within the #留学 (#StudyAbroad) tag, a popular category on Douyin where overseas Chinese students share lifestyle and personal content.
This tag connects the content with an existing interest-based community, allowing the video to reach audiences interested in international student life and cultural identity.
