Decker Library's membership in consortial and resource sharing arrangements helps to complement and strengthen the collection.
Decker Library is a member of the Maryland Digital Library Consortium(MDL) of academic libraries. Membership in MDL makes it possible to take advantage of group discounts for many electronic and print resources that would otherwise be unaffordable.
Decker Library is also a member of the Baltimore Area Library Consortium(BALC). BALC is an informal relationship among several of the local academic libraries that maintain reciprocal borrowing and resource sharing among its member constituencies. These arrangements greatly expand our students' access to print and electronic resources.
Decker Library subscribes to OCLC's WorldShare resource sharing system which provides the means for borrowing and lending content from thousands of other libraries that also participate. Our policy is to participate as a free lender to other libraries to be able to borrow from other libraries for free. This arrangement makes it possible for our students to access a wide range of resources that are not available locally.
