Lifeline connects to other tools in three ways.

AppleScript

Lifeline ships an AppleScript dictionary so you can read your data and control the app: start and stop sessions, start breaks and meetings, fetch your status, days, ranges, summaries, and sign-off state, and edit, add, or delete activities. Run these from Script Editor, from the command line with osascript, or from any tool that sends Apple Events.

AI assistants (MCP)

The Lifeline MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude, Claude Code, and ChatGPT read your activity and control Lifeline through those same commands, and it includes ready-made prompts for reviews and analysis. You'll find the setup steps and the GitHub link in Preferences > Account > Integrations.

Phone notifications

Lifeline can send a notification to your phone when a break ends, through the free ntfy service. Turn it on in Preferences > Account > Integrations, then install the ntfy app and subscribe to your topic.
