Make sure MySQL is running and accessible to the user essential, and start the Protégé server.

sudo systemctl start protege

Run the VNC server and connect remotely to server's desktop using SSH tunneling (howto).

‌Start the Protégé-client from a terminal window and open a connection to the Protégé-server.

cd /opt/Protege_3.5
./run_protege.sh

In the client:

Select 'Open Other..'

Choose /opt/essentialAM/server/metaproject.pprj

Change the default location of the Essential AM repository to /opt/essentialAM/repo/essential_baseline_v6_11.1.pprj

Save and close the project.
