To begin configuring a cut-in, open any Actor Sheet and click the Cinematic FX (⚡) button in the window header. This opens the Cinematic Configuration window.
🎨 Visual Settings (General Tab)
The General tab contains all the settings related to how the cut-in looks and sounds.
1. Theme & Format
- Theme: Choose from over 18 distinct animation styles.
- Format: Defines how the character is framed.
- Pop-out: The character is "cut out" and extends beyond the background elements. Best for transparent PNGs.
- Boxed: The character stays strictly within a stylized frame or window. Good for square tokens or portraits.
2. Image & Variations
- Image: Defaults to the Actor's token or prototype token image. You can upload a specific full-body artwork or action shot here.
- Variations (RNG): Don't let your cut-ins get repetitive!
- Click the Add Variation button to add alternative images (e.g., different facial expressions, poses, or camera angles).
- When the cut-in triggers, the module will randomly select one image from the main image + all variations.
- Note: You can also set individual scale/offset settings for each variation to ensure they all align perfectly.
3. Text & Typography
Customize the message displayed during the cut-in.
- Main Text: The primary, larger text (e.g., "CRITICAL HIT").
- Sub Text: The secondary, smaller text (e.g., "Take this!").
- Dynamic Tags: Use these tags to insert dynamic data:
- {{name}}: The name of the actor performing the action.
- {{target}}: The name of the first targeted token.
- {{item}}: The name of the item being used (only works for Item Triggers).
- Randomization: Separate multiple phrases with a semicolon (;) to pick one at random.
- Example: Begone!;Disappear!;Too slow!
4. Positioning & Scale
Fine-tune the placement of your character to get the perfect "cinematic shot."
- Screen Position (X/Y): Controls where the entire cut-in appears on the player's screen.
- Character Scale: Zoom the character image in or out.
- Character Offset (X/Y): Move the character image within the frame. Use this to center the face or focus on a weapon.
