The first concept I came up with was bringing the story to life. I wanted to visualize the story the user wants to write. The user comes in a screen where it says that specific information must be entered and that they will see the character they are making on screen. The information can be added in the menu on the right, this is a dropout menu. When they have entered all the necessary information, they will see the the page changing shape to the described world and characters. After they have completed all the exercises, they can start writing the whole story they are building up to. Using these visuals, I want to stimulate some fun and creativity. After entering the information, a professional writer will review it and give feedback to the beginning writer. This way they can improve on their writing and have a professional looking after them. So, let's assume someone wants to write a story about a chivalrous knight who fights for honor and wants to save the village from the angry dragon that plagues the fields. When this information has been entered, after each part of the information the main screen will change. The knight and the dragon will be shown on screen. This way it will be fun to actually see your characters and worlds. So, this will be the main part of my concept. All of the exercises will be like this, a playful way to learn. After they have done these exercises, this information will be send to a professional writer and they can give feedback on the work.
I did the test with Emiel Muis. He also falls under my target audience, because he also always wanted to write but never went fully through with it. He did used to write in the past, but he gave up because it took too much time to look at how good writing works and he never knew if it was good enough.
His feedback can be seen in the following and I made bullet points to sum it all up:
