At a Glance

Students inspire and get inspired by their peers in design challenges competition.

Competition is the final piece of IDOT's educational pillars. After studying the curriculum — picking up unique skills and styles along the way — students have opportunities to showcase their talents in designathons, challenge prompts, and an annual organization-wide system of conferences. Chapters get a chance to (virtually) meet, share creative work, and celebrate how far they've come!

Because "design" covers so many different disciplines, categories, and styles, students will get a chance to explore beyond the curriculum and tackle a prompt or event that interests them. From UX to publication to systems design, there will be a variety of competition topics to choose from.

These events are also a chance for students to get feedback from more designers, potentially including industry professionals. Chapter activities usually mean students work within the same set of people — competitions allow for cross-team collaboration, conversation, and appreciation.

Competition details and registration will open later this year.
