A brief history of our Community.

Our community was started in 2018 by Matt, Mike and James as a sustainability focused Burning Man camp called “F” - for Friends, Family and Future.

Future Horizon
In 2020 we decided to expand outside of Burning Man and started Future Horizon — a series of invite-only gatherings focused on envisioning, building and celebrating a sustainable future. Our community has made some beautiful difference in the world since — however not nearly enough to truly shift the needle in helping accelerate an advent towards true sustainability. Alex joined in 2019 and since then has become a core pillar of the community. In 2021 we decided it’s time to make it something more than just a group of friends meeting at times - Angela joined in 2021 to help lead the effort with a focused impact-oriented mindset - and deep care for all our humans. We’ve hosted our main gatherings in the Caribbean, Tuscany and Rio de Janeiro and have since this is better than TED, Burning Man, Summit and life changing even (all true feedback, what were these people thinking). We’ve gathered around 250 members including Environmentalists, Entrepreneurs, Artists, Futurists, Indigenous Leaders, Billionaires and Investors and helped raise $200M+ for incubated/supported organizations. Future Horizon always acted as a non-profit.

We are now ready to grow wider and welcome new aligned friends and family members who, like us, deeply care about regeneration, sustainability and future of all species. Our team has expanded and you can see us all on the Future Quest website.
