At Disco, we want everyone to feel comfortable and stay productive whilst they are at work. This includes their preferred method of communicating with the rest of the team.
To that end, it would be good to add an emoji to your slack status that indicates your preferred communication method for project or general work related duties. If you don't have an emoji then we will presume that Slack is your preferred default.

While we prefer using asynchronous communication methods like email or Slack where possible, there are times when it makes sense to hop on a video call to discuss things - whether it's at our regular weekly stand-up, to hash out a programming problem with a remote colleague, or to jump on a call with a client or other third party.
Our default go-to tool for video conferencing is Google Hangouts - we have set up a special redirect so that going to https://meet.discolabs.com/some-handle will create a new some-handle Hangout. You can use this to easily create hangouts for specific purposes or meetings, like https://meet.discolabs.com/disco-x-important-client or https://meet.discolabs.com/yak-shaving-discussion.
The default Disco meeting URL (the one we use for Weekly Standups, or the default "let's hop on a call to discuss") is https://meet.discolabs.com/disco.
