It is extremely difficult to change people's minds. Often we go about in what feels like the right way, but research shows are some of the worst ways possible.

✅ We must know how/who to communicate to.

Research shows many different methods work for different populations and dispositions. We need to collect that research and create a set of best practices for different regions of the world on how to better talk about climate.

Some research shows that people listen most to what their peers and preferred authority figures are saying. We can also collect a list of opinion makers that we think our friends and family listen to and then create campaigns to contact them directly and petition them to talk more about climate using methods that are proven to work.

❓Why

Why try to change peoples minds on climate?

The climate crisis is already here. It is going to change the lives of every person on planet earth for the worse. Time is ticking, and we need to employ every possible method of change.

We need to focus on those that are the most effective, such as making energy cheaper, and getting those who already agree to act, but we also need a large portion of the population to at a bare minimum agree that climate is an issue. It's extremely hard, but also an necessary step.

👮 What are people currently doing?

• Currently many people are communicating the climate crisis, activist organizations, news organizations, scientists, politicians, celebrities, etc.
• Not all but many of these people are using whatever media outlet they have available, often social media, traditional media, electioneering, and protests.
• These campaigns sometimes, but do not often use best practices for communicating the climate crisis. On top of that, these people may be influencers themselves, but are often not collaborating with other influencers or creating influencer networks with people who may have a stronger effect on public opinion than just these people alone.

🌟Why do it this way?

• Hopefully by creating a network where we attempt to share best practices and also create a targeted list of influencers to talk more about the climate crisis we can both increase the amount of people talking about the climate crisis and increase the efficacy at which they do so.
