Why we made this:

It's common knowledge that college tuition is expensive—but what's even more astounding are the costs associated with simply applying to these universities. Each college application fee can cost an upwards of $90, and with most students applying to 5+ schools, students are forced to pay hundreds of dollars in fees alone.

In most cases, school counselors are responsible for helping students who qualify for financial aid get their fees waived. But with countless schools now closed due to COVID-19 and many counselors burdened with other tasks, this year's college applicants face a severe barrier when it comes to applying for fee waivers.

About the product:

DoNotPay's new College Application Fee Waiver makes it easy for students to get the financial aid they need. Not only do we automatically fill out the form on the student's behalf, but we also take care of the mailing process and send the form directly to the university's financial aid office. Thanks to our comprehensive database of all universities in the U.S., our product works with any college in America.

We offer three types of fee waivers:

We also offer a secondary feature where students can strengthen their application by obtaining a school counselor's signature. We email the form to their counselor on their behalf (along with an explanation of their financial situation) so that the counselor can attest to their financial need.

How to use the product:

  1. Open the DoNotPay College Application Fee Waiver.
  2. Choose which fee you would like to waive.
  3. Choose the college you're applying to and answer a few questions about your financial situation.
