This Code of Conduct links with Paint Pots whistleblowing policy, safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, social networking policy, anti-bullying & harassment policy and positive behaviour policy.

The role of staff and volunteers:

In your role at Paint Pots you are acting in a position of authority and have a duty of care towards the babies, children and young people you work with. You are likely to be seen as a role model and are expected to act appropriately. All staff are expected to act in the best interests of the Nursery and the children at all times. Any conduct detrimental to the interests of the Nursery, its relations with OFSTED, the Local Education Authority, children, suppliers, visitors or the public will be considered to be a breach of company rules.

All staff are expected to act towards children at all times with kindness, respect and tolerance. Any behaviour that could be construed as abuse (physical, verbal, emotional or sexual) is unacceptable and will lead to disciplinary procedure. It could also lead to criminal proceedings.

Examples of unacceptable behaviour towards children include:

All staff are expected to maintain respectful, supportive and professional relationships with all colleagues, across Paint Pots and with those from other employers (for example when attending meetings or courses). This expectation also includes any comments or images that are deemed prejudicial or derogatory either in person or online.
