Hello!

I am looking for interview participants—filmmakers, directors, editors, cinematographers, and anyone who uses video references—to help develop a desktop application dedicated to managing video references, currently named Clipary.

FOR CONTEXT

I’ve been working as a motion graphic designer—mostly MV work—for about 5 years, and I’m now studying Computer Science at UBC.

I’ve always felt the pain of organizing video references, so this project grew out of my own workflow struggles.

🎯 The Problems I Want to Solve

  1. It is hard to find "that exact video" or "that exact shot" when you need it.
  2. The process of logging references is too tedious.
  3. I need to clearly answer: “Why is this better than my current system?”

💡 Concept Ideas (Draft)

This is not a finished product yet. These are the core ideas I’m exploring:

  1. Reference Timeline Extraction
  2. Moodboard + Timeline
  3. Supported Video Sources
