The Inflation Reduction Act was passed on August 16, 2022 and will provide as much as $800 billion in tax credits, subsidies, and other forms of investment in energy security and climate change programs over the next ten years.

When a bill is passed, each government agency that is set to receive funds needs to build out specific spending programs, including designing the rules and policies they will follow. The Request for Information (RFI) process is the government’s way of getting feedback on these proposals from all relevant stakeholders and industry experts.

Engaging in the RFI process is an essential way for organizations and business to help shape government spending and programs that ultimately define the ecosystem in which they operate. RFIs are asking for industry expertise specifically to ensure that the resulting program or spending mechanism delivers on the needs for these relevant stakeholders. In responding, organizations have their best opportunity to ensure just that.

There are many RFIs that stem from the IRA (as well as other recent climate and infrastructure-related legislation). Below are the ones released publicly so far, and more are expected in the coming weeks and months.
