Through our products and services, we ought to support homes on their eco-transition. To thrive on it, we must embed low carbon practices into our own business to be consistent with what we promote to our customers.

Last year we began measuring emissions from 2020, and in 2022, we are working on establishing a strategy that is in line with the business expansion as well as on improvement actions.

Our Carbon footprint

In early March, we were granted with financial support of Tremplin for the ecological transition of SMEs, promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and ADEME, which allowed Luko to to perform our first Carbon Footprint & start our Climate Strategy plan based on the ACT step by step  methodology. Our first carbon footprint was performed in 2021 with data from 2020, supervised by the Carbo Team, using the Bilan-GES as the base for the carbon coefficients.

• 💙 At Luko we have 0 direct emissions as such since we don't use fuel or wood at our office for heating, machinery or vehicles. </aside>

• 🏠 Like emissions from your electricity bill, heating & cooling. When the energy is produced somewhere else, but you are the one consuming it.
• 💙 At Luko we lease part of an office building. We have an individual electricity provider with Enercoop, keeping our electricity consumption at 1 ton of CO2 despite the growth of our team. Whereas for heating and cooling, we calculate a pro-rata, considering our occupancy space, from the total consumption of the building, making it a bit trickier to reduce it just based on our practices. Concretely, here’s how it looks like:

• 🏠 Like from the furniture or appliances you purchase for your house, the products you use to clean it, the professional that come to repair it etc…
• 💙 Like many other businesses here is where most of our emissions come from (98%). Some of them are directly under our control, such as employee business travel and office waste management, while others come from services or goods that have been supplied to us and are somewhat outside of our direct control.
