• mental models , set of rules through which problems are solved.

  • Latticework of mental models - more than 3 perspectives on solving a problem, solving a problem from multiple perspectives.

  • different mental models in different categories :

    • Education:

      • Pareto rule(80/20): In business, focus most of your effort on the small number of activities that generate the majority of your revenue.
      • first principles: breaking down a problem into its fundamantals and solve each one and then build from there.
        • agar koi kahe k ye kaam aise hi hota hai, tou usay puche kyun aur usko alag tariqe se hal karne ki koshish karein.

      • Second order consequences
        • long term thinking, long term consequences of a decision.
        • sirf natija nahi, balkay natija ka natija sochna
      • Compounding effect
    • Personal Relationships:

      • Hanlon’s Razor: a mistake by any person or anything that happened, may not be animosity of the other person but maybe something is not right in that person’s personal life , maybe it is unintentional. like if you dislike someone, think maybe they made a mistake instead of looking at them with animosity. like thinking positive about a negative experience. not taking thinks personally. sab k baare mein acha socho, reham karo, lekin andha bharosa mat karo, do not get sting by the same mistake again and again, do not ignore red flags.

      • Subah apne tasks ko in chaar quadrants mein rakhein, aur sirf wahi karein jo zaruri hain.
      • inversion: reverse engineering like k agar koi kaam karne mein jahan failure ho sakta hai mat karein, e.g: koi naya kaam karne se pehle ye sochein l wou 5 cheezein kiya hongi jinse nakami ho sakti hai aur unko fix karein ya avoid karein, do this every month, analyze previous month and apply inversion for next month.
      • Occam’s Razor: agar kisi masle ke 2 hal hain then the simple solution is the best one. jab koi masla aaye tou pehle simple solution try karein. e.g. phone band hai nahi khul rha tou maybe charge nahi hai , ya phir battery kharab hai , na k koi hardware fault hai. think positively.
      • Opportunity cost: When you are doing one thing, what are you leaving/losing in return, cost of that thing that you left/lose is opportunity cost.
        • e.g. koi bhi waqt/paisa lagane se pehle soche, iske badle mein kiya kho rha hun.
        • e.g. 2: agar aap scrolling kar rahe ho 2 ghante tou iske badle aapko ADHD ho sakta hai, us time k badle parhai ho sakti hai etc.
        • kuch paane k liye kuch khona parta hai.
      • Probabilistic thinking:
        • Thinking in terms of chances (likelihoods), not certainties.
        • dunya ko haan ya naa mein nahi, success and failure main nahi balke chances mein dekhna
        • koi bhi kaam karne se pehle dekhain iske success hone k kitne chances hain.
        • business mein 10% naakami ho sakti hai, tou us k liye tayyar rahein.
      • Regret Minimization Framework:
        • apne aapko 80 saal mein imagine akrein aur dekhain kis decison ya cheez par regret hoga.

zyada parhein, patterns dekain mukhtalif cheezon mein, see how someone under what conditions made these models.
