Although told in an engaging manner, much of the narrative seems to be written as exposition. There aren't enough scenes for me to sink my teeth into and become immersed into the world.

The moments where the narrator turns their attention to the outside collapsing world also feel unnatural and heavy handed.

The best moments are with the characters when they experience a moment of transience, Bradley seems to convey that emotion well, such as when the scientist looks over the ice and feels insignificant.

I really liked the way the author approached the topic of climate change, not as one horrific event but as a background of constant changes against which life carried on as best as it could.
