Civics Unplugged is a community of young leaders empowered by our differences and united behind a shared commitment to create a brighter future for our communities and our democracies.

We believe in community that is strong enough to use words like “love” and “compassion” and is courageous enough to really live them.

We share a firm commitment to radically support each other, deeply listen to each other, and intentionally learn from each other, because it is only by caring for each other and working together that we can make the most impact.

<aside> ℹ️ **To ensure we all feel free to express our ideas and bring our full selves to the community, we all commit to the Civics Unplugged Code of Conduct.

These guidelines cover both online (e.g. mailing lists, social channels) and offline (e.g. in-person meetups) behavior.**

The Basics

Follow the Golden Rule: Treat others has you would want to be treated. Assume the best from each other. Practice gratitude. Show love. Have each other's backs. We are all in this together.

Celebrate our Differences: We are all different because we need each other. Learn about each other and allow our differences to bond us.

Protect our Safe Space: Remember to be respectful and constructive with your communication to fellow members. We are a community free from online, physical or sexual harassment and assault. Free from discrimination on the basis of nationality, race, class, religion, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. Everyone should take responsibility for the community and take the initiative to diffuse tension and stop a negative threat as early as possible.

Show Up: Attendance at weekly lessons is required.

Be a Great Representative of CU: You are a representative of Civics Unplugged so we expect you to represent CU values inside and outside of the CU platforms.
