Capital of the Republic of Maraveris

Once called Cal Deri **(the Fortress of Deri in the old Valdir tongue) the city began as a coastal stronghold overlooking a natural harbor. Today, it’s considered the third biggest city in all of the republics, after only Campagalla and Salencia. All the three of them, of course, are cities that hold the Doctrine of the Seal but Calderi gains special attention because of it’s Arcadium.

The God Beneath

Below forgotten dungeons and reinforced vaults, lies one of the twelve Divine Vaults. The presence of the sealed god has undoubtedly shaped the city for the last century and a half. Although the name and domain of what specific god of creation is sealed isn’t part of the public knowledge, it’s widely assumed by most citizens that Calderi seals Avandra, the once goddess of civilization and revolution. And also one of the three creation gods that took the mortals side during the war.

The Arcadium of Calderi

Calderi is also known for the Arcadium Arcanum. Although Arcadi are scattered throughout all the republics, the one in Calderi is regarded as the institution that concentrates the greatest power and responsibility. Beyond, of course, the maintenance of the city’s Divine Vault.

The Arcadium complex itself stands like a citadel within Calderi, its towers looming over surrounding neighborhoods while its walkways hum with modern galvanic infrastructure. Beneath these structures lie the Arcanum University, its restricted archives and deep vaults directly connected to legendary and dangerous magical artifacts.

The leadership of the Arcadium Arcanum is shared among the Twelve Chairs, each one representing an hour of the Clock and an animal of the zodiac, rather than the twelve sealed gods themselves. Unofficially, most believe the zodiac animals function as coded markers of specific gods, domain and lingering influence each Chair studies and specializes in.

The Erdonic Revolution

Aurelia and Marcel Erdonis, siblings born and raised in Calderi, have spent the last decade redefining the limits of Galvanic technology. Their breakthrough, known as Erdonic paradigm, introduced a reciprocal system capable of not only drawing power from ley lines, but pushing galvanic energy back into the world’s connective magical network in a controlled exchange. This advance is slowly transforming the districts of Calderi into this ultra modern metropolis. But has also sparked what many are trying to call the Erdonic Revolution, a new technological layer atop of the Galvanic one.
