<aside> 🎨 Hi, I’m Cherine Pretorius, a South African mixed media artist working under the name Cherini Fine Art. I create expressive abstract portraiture rooted in personal healing and transformation. My journey through trauma, addiction, and recovery has shaped my art and my mission — to use creativity as a tool for emotional healing and empowerment. I'm currently writing my autobiography to share my story and inspire others, and I’m crowdfunding through BackaBuddy to bring this project to life.

About Me

WhatsApp Image 2025-04-25 at 20.24.25.jpeg

I specialize in expressive, abstract portraiture that weaves together emotion, storytelling, and healing.

Art has been my anchor through some of the darkest seasons of my life — including trauma, addiction, and recovery. As a self-taught artist and a student of therapeutic art practices, I’ve experienced firsthand how creativity can be a lifeline, a mirror, and a form of liberation.

My work is deeply personal. It is a reflection of my journey — from surviving to thriving — and it’s become my mission to help others find healing through art too.

I am in the process of writing my autobiographical book: The Art of Surviving, a raw and honest account of my story, in the hope that it will inspire others to reclaim their own voices and power.

This crowdfunding campaign will help me bring that book to life. Thank you for being here and for considering joining me on this journey.

Vision

Healing through Beauty from Brokenness

I believe that healing is possible, and that art can be one of the most powerful tools to get there. My vision is to create a body of work — both visual and written — that helps others feel seen, understood, less alone in their pain and gives them a voice.

Through my autobiography and my art, I want to reach people who have lived through trauma, addiction, abuse, or deep emotional struggle — and show them that beauty can grow from brokenness.

This project is more than just a book. It’s the beginning of something bigger:

✨ A movement of healing through storytelling and creativity

✨ A platform where vulnerability becomes strength

✨ A reminder that transformation is real — and it’s never too late to begin again

With your support, I hope to publish my story, continue creating healing art, and eventually host workshops and exhibitions that offer others the space to express, reflect, and reclaim their power.

This is the heart of what I do. This is my purpose.
