When presenting, don't explore everything, just show the audience the noteworthy things that they need to see.
I should always want my audience to know or do something

The audience doesn't know better than the presenter. It's the opposite

Consider the control I have over the audience to decide which method should be used to communicate
Live presentation: Full control over the audience (speed, focus,...) but not full detail
