Sending new emails in SharedBox can be done in two ways. You can either send a dm to the @SharedBox bot or invite @SharedBox to a channel and mention it. The bot will then reply with a compose button you can click to compose a new mail.

While that works for private workspaces, it poses a security issue for public workspaces that are open to anyone for signup. This is because any member of the workspace, core team or not, member of the connected private channel or not, can send out an email.

Moving forward, composing new emails will no longer be available by dm or mentioning the @SharedBox bot. To compose a new email, simply type /compose (and press enter ⏎) in the channel your SharedBox email is connected to. This will bring up the compose dialog and you can send a new email. Consequently, only members of the channel are able to compose new emails.

If you can't find the /compose command, you will need to re-authenticate your SharedBox account with Slack. Click here: sharedbox.app/install or click the signup button on the SharedBox homepage

If you are having challenges, kindly let us know through @sharedboxapp on Twitter or [email protected]. As usual, feedback appreciated.
