The vast majority of end buyers of digital assets do not have a self-custodial wallet and prefer to purchase on a centralized exchange (CEX). This includes not just retail investors but institutional investors as well. As such, listing Index Cooperative products on CEXs is how we bridge our products to the mainstream market.
While there are over 200 exchanges globally, our strategic focus is to obtain listings for Index Coop products on Tier I exchanges (e.g., Binance, Coinbase, Gemini, etc.). Those exchanges have considerably more volume. In addition, listing on a Tier I exchange signals a high degree of confidence to the broader market.
