Defining the MVP Experience for a Stealth Startup
Overview
I worked as a Product Designer with an early-stage startup currently in stealth mode, focused on validating its core product idea before launch.
As one of the early contributors, my role was to help translate a high-level idea into a structured product foundation.
Objective
- Understand the problem space and potential users
- Define the initial product structure (IA)
- Map user journeys and flows
- Identify and prioritize MVP features
- Explore onboarding concepts for first-time users
Understanding the Target Audience
Since the product was in its earliest stage, I relied on secondary research to form initial assumptions.
Approach:
- Studied existing networking and collaboration platforms to understand how users build professional connections
- Observed interaction patterns, engagement methods, and collaboration flows across known products
- Researched companies and platforms to understand their target audience, core problem statements, and market positioning
- Analyzed why users return to these platforms and what creates long-term engagement and value
- Identified common user needs, motivations, and gaps within the startup networking ecosystem
