Comun is a fintech building the financial home for Latino immigrant families in the United States. Their product allows users to open checking accounts with Latin American IDs, send remittances directly from the app, and manage their money in Spanish. The value proposition is simple and clear. What was not simple was the operational complexity growing underneath the surface as their volumes increased.

By early 2024, Comun was processing transactions across multiple systems. Card activity went through Galileo. Cross-border payments moved through Uniteller. Internal ledgers tracked user balances. Their sponsor bank, CFSB, required daily reporting and full traceability. None of these systems spoke the same language. Each produced data in different formats, with different timing, and different logic. When something did not reconcile, the team had no easy way of knowing where the error was.

The result was a reconciliation process that depended heavily on manual effort. Operations analysts downloaded files, ran scripts, built spreadsheets, and tried to figure out why numbers did not line up. Engineers got pulled in constantly to fix broken tooling or help trace discrepancies. Finance had no unified view and could not confidently answer basic questions about balances, flows, or delays. As Comun scaled, this lack of visibility became a bottleneck and a risk.

When they partnered with Rexi, we worked together to replace that fragile process with something reliable and automated. We connected directly to their data sources and cleaned and standardized the inputs. Together we defined reconciliation logic that reflected how their business actually worked. Some of it came from the team’s internal knowledge. Some of it was surfaced by our AI based on historical mismatches and repeated exceptions. The system began running daily reconciliations automatically, flagging mismatches and providing context to help resolve them quickly.

Today, Comun uses Rexi as a central source of truth across operations, finance, and engineering. They no longer rely on manual checks or scattered spreadsheets. When something does not match, the right person sees it immediately and knows what to do. Sponsor bank requests are easier to handle. Internal investigations are faster. Engineering no longer spends time chasing financial data. Everyone trusts the numbers they are looking at.

Comun helped us shape the product in its earliest stages. Much of what Rexi is today was built in close collaboration with them.
