1. CV and Resume are two different things. Resume is meant to be shorter than CV and more job specialized.

  4. It is best to add image in BD resume. International resume don't require you to add your image.
  5. It is also best to keep your formal image updated every year. Take a new photo every year at studio.
  6. BD employers only accept your resume once and don’t allow you to change it for later.
  7. At contact info, try to bold your name font. Give the phone num you always use. Also add a second number. Add a formal email then. Then current address, LinkedIn, portfolio.
  8. Freshers write carrier objectives(what skills you have, short-term vision, long-term vision, your subject), People having previous work experiences (you got money from that work or internships) should write summery.
  9. At education section, also can add research experience as a sub point for M.Sc. and you can also add your publication DOI. If you have a lot of research article, only reference the impactful once (2-3s). Fellowships also go with research experience. Also add supervisor names.
  10. Write skills after education. 5-6 skills should be mentioned, speaker also mentioned there two types of skills.
  11. Anything outside academic curriculum is extra curricular. Anything related to academic is co-curricular.
  12. Language Proficiency: usually write if your good at listening, writing or speaking a language (usually Eng.)
  13. Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of birth, NID, permanent address (if present and permanent address are same don’t write permanent address) in personal info are a must.
  14. In most cases you have to refer two people. (some special cases ask for three reference), Refer someone, who knows you from your academic. Always take permission before referring someone. Give their name, contact, email, designation and the relation between you and them.
  15. At the end of the resume, you have to declare that if any information provided here is wrong, then your responsible for it.
  16. Add a signature in at the end.
  17. Always try to keep a copy of your CV, image and signature in drive so you can get it at anytime from anywhere.
  18. Font should Times New Romans or Calibri, Font size should be 12 or 11 (it is better to not take 10), A resume cannot be more than 2 pages.
  19. For organizing education on a table, don’t add borders.
  20. Speaker encourages to build your resume/CV from first year slowly if possible.
