As an early hire, you'll be instrumental to shaping multiple aspects of the business. Your tasks will likely extend beyond those in your explicit job description but they will all have an impact. No task is too small, no job is undoable. Sometimes you'll just have to roll up your sleeves and MacGyver your way through. The ocean is our largest energy sink and thus it will be central to solving the crisis of our generation. With less than 5% of our oceans mapped to modern high-resolution standards, it’s hard to think about a problem we don’t fully understand, let alone change it.
Who we look for
We’re seeking ultra-determined people who aren’t afraid to pioneer new solutions and challenge conventional assumptions. Most of all, we're looking for high-quality, good human beings with low egos.

How we work
We're a bi-coastal team. The technical side is based out of the SF Bay Area while the others are located in NYC. Although everyone is currently a blend of on-site and remote, we make it a point to come together as a company often (even if only virtual for now.)
What to expect
We want to attract missionaries, not mercenaries. This means that we don't seek to win those who optimize for salary alone. We believe in rewarding strong personal alignment with our mission, and sharing in the upside.
We're a small but fearless team. Some might describe us as explorers of other worlds (SpaceX, DeepFlight, Reliable Robotics), craftsmen of robots and hardware (SRI International, Apple, CafeX), and pursuers of scientific and tech innovation (Zymergen, Helix, DoorDash). That's all true. But, when all's said and done, we're just a group of adventure-loving people who care deeply about our planet.
