We're releasing a Code of Conduct because we want you, our community of volunteers, to feel welcome, respected, accepted, and safe when contributing your time to this project. If the words on this page fail to anticipate a situation that might affect that purpose, we will use our best judgment and update the Code of Conduct appropriately.

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, including on CareerVillage.org, Github.com, Notion.so, in a Slack, by email, or when communicating directly with members of the CareerVillage community online or in-person. It also applies when an individual is representing the project or its community in public spaces. Examples of representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be further defined and clarified by project maintainers upon request.

Creating a Welcoming and Inclusive Culture

Communities mirror the societies in which they exist and positive action is essential to counteract the many forms of inequality and abuses of power that exist in society.

If you see someone who is making an extra effort to ensure our community is welcoming, friendly, and encourages all participants to contribute to the fullest extent, please recognize their efforts.

Our Pledge

In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as contributors and maintainers pledge to make participation in our project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
