Tips for Captains - Phase 1
🙋How do projects find a core crew?
1️⃣ Make your project known
- Add your project by submitting this form and indicate you are accepting new members
- Start a thread in #expedition-project-ideas to share more info and connect with crew members interested in joining your project
- Pitch the project at a Crew Connections call
2️⃣ Engage with interested parties
- Crew members will indicate their interest in your Discord project thread
- In the project thread, lead discussions, asking for people's input and perspective, tagging in those who have already indicated interest
- In the Crew Connections break out rooms, get to know people who are interested by asking them what excites them about the project, their experience, etc.
- host your own intro calls to get to know people, and discuss next steps
3️⃣ Gauge interest
- see who is answering questions / discussions you start in your discord thread
- start a project scope (info below) and ask everyone to start adding to it
- see who is excited to engage at Crew Connections
4️⃣ Select your core team of up to 5
- select your team based on complimentary skills sets, and engagement.
- Once you have formed your team, please "edit your response" to the project proposal (search your email for "Thanks for filling out this form: Expedition Tiny Aya - Captain Project Proposal") and mark your team as "not accepting new members" and list your Confirmed Crew Members.
- At the end of Phase 1, mentors will review confirmed teams and select projects to join their roster for Phase 2!
