ANSWER

At this point in time, to integrate your daily steps data from Apple Watch into humanOS, you'll have to use a third party app such as MyfitnessSync as a work around.

HOW IT WORKS

When you wear your Apple Watch, the data automatically goes into Apple's HealthKit. For this workaround, MyFitness sync helps transfer the steps data from HealthKit to Fitbit. Since we integrate directly with Fitbit, you can then pull in your Apple Watch data through Fitbit.

NOTE: You do not need a need a Fitbit device to use the Fitbit app, and using the Fitbit mobile app is free.

Once you get it set up, it's rather easy to use on a regular basis. Here is a short video that shows how it works.

STEPS FOR SET UP

One time setup

  1. Step 1: Download MyFitness Sync app.
  2. Step 2: Download Fitbit app (don’t need a device) and make an account.
  3. Step 3: Open MyFitness Sync and choose daily steps source from HealthKit. In this case, the step data will be from Apple Watch.
  4. Step 4: Connect Fitbit to your humanOS account (humanOS → Settings → Integrations)

Daily Syncing

Whenever you want to get your Apple Watch step data:

  1. Step 1: Open the MyFitness Sync app and press “sync”. Open your Fitbit app to see that your steps appear.
