About

A campaign is what Tableplop uses to group a party and all their characters and scenes. This is where you will create encounters and characters and invite your players.

Info

Personalize your campaign with a title, choose an icon from the built in options or upload your own and consider adding a description to let your players know a little about the campaign.

Scenes

Scenes are Tableplop's term for the virtual battlemaps. You can create scenes in the campaign by pressing the "New Scene" button.

On each scene card you can:

  1. Rename the scene (this is visible to players that can see the scene)
  2. Open a menu with more options for the scene, such as choosing a new image for the scene card, deleting the scene and opening the scene as a spectator.
  3. See the scene's category or click the category to change it.
  4. Toggle the scenes' visibility to players. Hiding the scene will kick out any players in it and they will no longer be able to find it in the campaign.

Characters

Characters can be added to a campaign, characters are used for anything that has stats, can make rolls or should be controlled by a character. They will be available to add to any scene and their stats will persist between scenes. Player characters are shown under their player banner in the Members tab. To assign a character to a player create a character in the NPCs tab by clicking New Character, then on the character page choose which player owns the character.

Non-player characters are shown separately in the NPCs tab.

Mark NPCs as private if you don't want players to see their stats. Private characters are still visible when added to the scene though, to hide them in the scene add them as "hidden", see ‣ .

If you have a lot of characters consider categorizing them so you can filter the list when you're looking for something specific.

See ‣ for more information on characters.

Players

Players make the party, add your players so you can play! See your players under the Members heading in the campaign.

Inviting players

Invite players by copying the invite code and sending it to your players. Anyone who follows this link will be able to join the campaign. If they don't have an account they will be prompted to create one.

Managing players

You can kick unwanted players in the player list. You can also make another player a GM or make a current GM a player. There must always be at least one GM though.

Settings

The settings tab allows you to set up options for your campaign like snap to grid defaults and how the measure tool should work.

This is also where you can delete your campaign but beware — once deleted a campaign cannot be restored.
