Born of a human mother but raised by his Dalish father, Callan never felt at his place in the clan. Always pointed out for his physical differences, he decided to leave it before getting his Vallaslins. On the way with his Hart, he met Morrigan, Kieran and Farron Mahariel, assisting them in a fight against bandits. He lived a couple weeks with them, learning how Humans and Dalish can coexist in such harmony. Callathian decided to continue his travels, becoming a kind of minstrel with songs Farron teached him, reminding him of his clan. Eventually, he tried to look for them, but they had moved. When he heard of the Conclave, he knew they would be there and tried to contact them… His soft poetry and minstrel skills made him win over the heart of Cassandra Pentaghast, and they eventually got married in Trespasser. He is the cousin of Sulevin Lavellan. Callan is 38 by the time DAI begins.
