There are two main types of real estate licenses: Salesperson and Broker.

Both licenses require applicants to take examinations in person at one of the following locations:

• Fresno
• La Palma
• Oakland
• Sacramento
• San Diego

Both licenses also require completion of a set of college-level courses; these can be taken by any accredited institution both in person and online.

Requirements for Salesperson License

• 18+ years of age
• California resident
• Honesty “Applicants must be honest and truthful”
• Completion of following courses by accredited schools:
  • Real Estate Principles
  • Real Estate Practice
  • An elective course
