If you’ve been told several times that you’re “too fat” or “too thin,”

what if your weight is actually just right for your age and height?

This is where a simple medical indicator called BMI (Body Mass Index) comes in.

BMI helps you know whether you’re underweight, at a healthy weight, or overweight.

You only need two things to check:

✍️ Your weight in kilograms (kg)

✍️ Your height in meters (m)

Formula:

BMI = weight (kg) ÷ [height (m)]²

Example:

If you weigh 60 kg and your height is 1.65 m,

your BMI = 60 ÷ (1.65 × 1.65) = 22.0, which falls within the normal weight range.

BMI Guide:

✅ Below 18.5: Underweight

✅ 18.5 – 24.9: Normal weight

✅ 25.0 – 29.9: Overweight

✅ 30.0 and above: Obese

Your BMI helps you stay aware of your body, your health, and your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, or malnutrition.

So next time someone comments on your size, smile and say,

“I’m medically within the healthy range.” 🫶🏻
