What

A Google Sheets Add-on that uses the COVID Tracking Project to add the latest COVID data easily to any Google spreadsheet.

Why

With the COVID-19 pandemic going on, I wanted to help out in any way I could, even if it was just in a small way. Once I heard about the COVID Tracking Project and what they were doing, I thought with my experience in building Google Sheets apps (see Sheets Market Data below), this presented a good opportunity to help others get the data they needed easily.

Learnings

• Wasn't able to get the COVID Tracking Project team interested in promoting the add-on, which kind of killed it in its tracks. I still used it personally to track the data.
• Google app scripts is becoming a more robust development platform.
