Our top priority is the health and safety of our team members. These guidelines are meant to keep you safe when engaging in any essential domestic business travel amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. If you are in a position where you will be travelling, we are depending on you to take all appropriate measures to minimize potential risks. If you are requested to travel but feel unsafe doing so please speak to your manager or our People Operations Manager.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will update these guidelines accordingly. All approval and processes as documented in our Travel Policy are applicable.
Should you be travelling?
- Assess whether pre-existing medical conditions and/or risk factors put you in the high-risk category of contracting COVID-19. If you are in this category, you should not travel.
- Be mindful of pre-exposure before travel.
- Do not travel if you are currently on treatment for any illness or if you feel unwell.
- Do not travel if you have reason to believe that you may have been exposed to the virus within the last 14 days or are currently exhibiting symptoms (confirm by doing a PCR test at least 48hrs before travel)
- Review the country and region-specific travel guidelines, precautions and restrictions in place ensuring you are tested as required and that the intended travel plan is permitted.
Packing for the trip
- Ensure that you have enough personal protective equipment for the duration of your upcoming trip before travel (masks & sanitisers for field visits will be reimbursed)
- Ensure you pack your medical insurance cards.
During Field Travel
While travelling, adhere to ****all respective country’s Government/Ministry of Health guidelines, taking personal initiative to be responsible and using best judgement while interacting in the field. Be sure to adhere to any time curfews and transportation restrictions in place at your destination.
General Safety Practises
- Maintain social distance (at least 6 feet) at all times during travelling, training and field/office visits, preferably meet in open spaces where possible and where applicable.
- Wash hands/sanitize frequently carry along enough sanitisers for your stay (at least 20ml a day) for field areas where water and soap are not provided.
- Wear your mask at all times, keeping your nose and mouth covered in public settings. Masks should at the very least have 3ply.
- If you are in the field and feel unwell please visit the nearest health facility. Please see the list of health centres under our Insurance Health Provider List.
- Medic will confirm as much as possible that all hotels booked have followed MoH sanitation protocols but be sure to confirm once you arrive. If you are not comfortable with the hotel’s precautionary measures, request the Admin team for a change of hotel.
