LOCATION: Edinburgh/Remote (work from home, in a UK-compatible timezone)
DURATION: 4 MONTHS FIXED - possibility of extension after initial period.
HOURS: Full time desired, but at least 24 hours each week.
asensei is looking for an engineer to help train our asensei.ai system to recognise postures, movements and corrections so that we can build our library of exercises that allows us to coach customers in our proprietary manner.
You will need to be able to perform physical exercises in order to demonstrate and test them on our proprietary systems so a reasonable level of physical fitness and co-ordination is required. You will need a technical understanding to be able to use our in-house software tools such as asensei Dojo.
This role would suit someone with a sports/physical coaching related background and some programming knowledge, OR a more technical software/engineering degree and a good understanding of physical movements.
The position is ideal for an intern or recent graduate looking to try something a little different. The initial contract is a fixed duration of 4 months, but options to extend or make full-time may arise.
You'll be working with the company founders, CPO (based in Edinburgh), CTO and the engineering team, in a key role to help bring Connected Coaching to the market.
This is a remote-first role, but we are centred around Edinburgh in the UK and as the world returns to normal we anticipate that we'll periodically be getting back to face-face interactions.
In this role, you'll work to build a library of postures and movements to meet the needs of asensei customers around the world.
You'll be translating movements into a JSON format representing a proprietary description language that allows asensei to guide, monitor and correct athletes on a coach's behalf. We use JSON, Typescript, Github and other tools to automate the creation and testing process and you'll help us to continue to improve this flow. You won’t need to be expert in the technical side, but an ability to learn will be essential.
To create and test exercises you will need to be capable of physically performing these physical exercises.
Using our in-house tools you'll be creating JSON language descriptions of movements and postures that allow asensei to track and assess your form. To help validate these you may be doing some basic editing of audio or video footage.
As a member of a fast-paced venture backed startup, you'll be working with software engineers, user-experience designers, coaches and physical movement experts, our content and marketing teams and our end-customers, to make sure that your fingerprints are on a world-class coaching product.
