스튜디오 차차는 익숙한 소재들을 낯설게 조합하여 새로운 미감을 담은 오브제와 가구를 제작하는 디자인 스튜디오다. 물성의 기존 이미지를 재구성함으로써, 새로운 시각적 경험과 탐구를 통해 일상적인 사물과 현상에서 새로운 가치를 발견하고자 한다. 특히 유리가 흐르고 맺히는 과정에서 나타나는 물성의 자연스러운 형태와 긴장, 균형에 주목하며 작업을 이어가고 있다. 현재 램프워킹을 기반으로 한 유리 작업을 중심으로 캐스팅과 퓨징 등 다양한 유리 기법을 활용하며 작업의 영역을 확장하고 있다.
Drop Series. 2023
유리가 흘러내리며 맺히는 순간의 형태에서 출발한 작업이다. 액체가 중력에 의해 떨어지기 직전 만들어내는 긴장된 곡선과, 표면에 맺히는 방울의 형태를 유리를 통해 표현한다. 뜨거운 상태의 유리는 완전히 통제되기보다 흐르고 늘어지며 스스로 형태를 만들어낸다. 이 과정에서 발생하는 자연스러운 두께의 변화, 투명도, 빛의 굴절이 Drop Series의 중요한 요소다. 각 작업은 동일한 형태를 반복 생산하기보다, 흐름과 균형 속에서 조금씩 다른 형태로 만들어진다. 모든 Drop Series 피스는 비슷하지만 서로 다른 긴장과 균형을 품고 있다. 이 시리즈는 고정된 형태를 만드는 것이 아니라, 흐르는 순간, 맺히는 순간, 떨어지기 직전의 순간을 형태로 남기는 작업이다.
Fluid Loop. 2026
Fluid Loop 시리즈는 유리가 가진 본연의 유동성을 탐구하며 물이 그리는 고요한 궤적을 쫓는다. 부드러운 선이 곡선을 그리며 스스로를 감싸 안는 루프(Loop) 구조는 끊임없이 이어지는 순환(Cycle)을 상징한다. 액체처럼 흐르는 찰나의 순간을 투명한 고체의 형태로 포착함으로써, 정지된 사물 안에 리드미컬한 평온함과 정적인 휴식을 공간에 불어넣는다.

Studio Chacha (b. 1991, based in Seoul) is a design studio that creates objects and furniture by recombining familiar materials in unfamiliar ways. By reinterpreting the existing image of materials, the studio explores new visual experiences and seeks to discover new values in everyday objects and phenomena. The studio is particularly interested in the natural forms, tension, and balance that appear as glass flows and gathers, and continues to explore these material qualities through its work. The studio currently focuses on lampworking while expanding its practice through various glass techniques such as casting and fusing.
Drop Series. 2023
The Drop Series originates from the moment when molten glass flows and gathers into a droplet. The works capture the tension just before a drop falls — a moment shaped by gravity, weight, and balance.
Rather than fully controlling the material, the process allows the glass to flow, stretch, and form naturally. Variations in thickness, transparency, and light refraction become important visual elements in each piece.
Instead of producing identical forms, each piece is created through balance and movement, resulting in similar yet slightly different shapes. Every Drop piece holds its own tension and equilibrium.
The Drop Series is not about creating a fixed form, but about capturing a moment the moment of flowing, gathering, and just before falling.
