The Congruence Engine is taking a negotiated approach to consent as part of its research ethics strategy. The basis of this approach lies in the signing of an initial consent form and, after that, the ongoing recording of materials created or contributed to for individual participants to sign off on.

This way, participants are able to specify the use of certain images, quotes etc. without giving blanket consent. We aim to do this in a transparent way that allows individual project participants to see and veto the use of material that they are a part of.
