[ ] Target demographic
• Will this database ONLY include faculty, or will other non-faculty (e.g. students, applicants, etc.) be added?
anyone who wants to make their information available to people... Dan is partial to faculty, otherwise too many students
also getting student info but just keeping them separate
you can find peers at a school, for example, and finding students to connect with just through word of mouth
easy way to do that is to just have a question identfying role, then just easily separate
[ ] • Institutional support
• Who can we partner with to add credibility to the project?
SSDP, APA?: feels like a long shot, maybe once there is a psycehdelic therapy division. MAPS: have so much on their plate right now, but what they could do is update the student resources page, "sponsored" "partnered" name to legitimize.
kyle: apa might not be too much of a stretch, APA had CE credits at Horizons, let's dig into that, they've had several sessions at conventions, so maybe... WHO AT APA IS SUPPORTIVE OF PSYCHEDELIC RESEARCH, that would be massive outreach to demographics we wouldn't have access to otherwise
vil: look to the separate divisions, it should all be there on the conventions, Vil will help dig up email contacts from event last year
maybe the "trauma" division, "substance use division"
we don't want to reach out to APA until we have a clear picture, good to consider but no need to move on this part immediately
[ ] • Survey design
• What are the critical pieces of information we want to gather from participants?
how do present the information for students so that it is accessible, if an applicant had this info, their application process
VIL: we also ask on the SSDP form for mentor information, if their CV resume is not in there, to describe their background/experience as it relates to the topic area and general, vets that mentors actually know what they are talking about too
newsletter?
to maintain the registry and to maintain INTEREST, maybe once/semester, updates people on opportunity, actively engages faculty members who are seeking students, make an "announcement", website and newsletter will also keep information updated, datacleaning
TO WHAT EXTENT do we want to play into peoples desires to not expose themselves, and their desire to step out of that
it's tricky! if people do self identify, that could end up shifting the climate and invite others to do the same. Dan is partial to not allowing to respond anonymously. if you respond you are identifying, but that is asking people to expose themselves so...
alex: is in favor of non-anonymous options
vil: non-anonymous options, if they share their info we won't just throw it out all over the internet, we will protect that info
