At the helm of strategy, scaling, sales, capital, and overall team building, Calvin is the leader and visionary who steers Buzzbassador on its path to the top of a booming $3B+ market. Calvin’s unwavering perseverance, “never quit” / “can do” attitude, and competitive nature has been layered into the foundation of Buzzbassador at every level. Calvin has prior experience in building a social media software startup and running multiple eCommerce brands, using carefully crafted influencer campaigns to scale each to new heights. This experience and passion have driven Buzzbassador’s product development, forming a powerhouse platform that has already connected 130,000+ influencers and brands together to generate over $10 million in D2C sales.
Shelby is an organizational wiz whose attention to detail, leadership experience, and communication skills make her the perfect integrator to head up Buzzbassador’s operations. These areas of expertise paired with her design eye and extensive background (and degree) in marketing inform her daily ownership over customer experience, project management, communications, and marketing. After working as a marketing lead at a tech startup near her undergrad college campus, Shelby discovered her passions for tech, entrepreneurship, marketing & more specifically, influencer marketing. She has used all of this experience and passion to fuel Buzzbassador’s growth daily, full-time alongside Calvin since 2019.
We met in undergrad in as we were both heavily involved in the campus Entrepreneurship Center. In 2017, we combined each of our unique backgrounds and mutual passions for tech, social media & influencer marketing and formed a team for our first venture together: three eCommerce brands. We spent the next 2 years as full-time college students and full-time entrepreneurs, running successful influencer marketing campaigns that managed 8,000+ creators worldwide and scaled our brands from 0 to 6 figures. Those 2 years also served as extensive market research for our next venture.
After testing countless influencer marketing platforms over thousands of hours spent managing creator campaigns for our own brands, we knew there was a problem that needed solving — and at that point, our personal pain as merchants fueled our passion to solve it. In 2019, we pivoted to focus full-time on building a powerhouse creator marketing platform that would fill in the gaps of the market.
