IMMEDIATELY upon loading into this level, hit START and Reset Level. This skips the cutscene, and if you wait too long to do it, you can't skip the cutscene.

Aside from that, this level doesn't have any optimizations, since the computers and slugs spawn randomly. Simply play the mini game as normal.
