Hello Everyone
I wish to collaborate with Gnars in a Chicago Based event October 22nd and 23rd.
I orchestrate DIY Festivals at our City’s Skate Parks with the help of the City of Chicago and an underground network of Skaters, Musicians, and Artists. At these events we host skate competitions with cash prizes, live music performances with local musicians, and small business operators to sell vintage, merchandise, clothing, and much more.
The events are a beautiful collection of the culture that the city has to offer. I think this Event would be a perfect example of what Gnars is trying to support. A great way to directly support Skaters and Artists on a level that would otherwise not receive support.
If Gnars came in to sponsor the project- we would be able to better grow our audience of attendees and in turn support more skaters.
I have set up all previous events independently- working full time between events to afford cost of operation. I love doing these events but it is not sustainable on my end without outside help. With the right guidance we can turn these events into larger national and international events.
THE ASK
Requesting 1.5 ETH from Gnars in exchange for a full sponsorship of the Skate Competition ie. the winners of the competition.
THE BREAK DOWN
1 ETH: Skate Competition Prize -.25 ETH given to 4 Skaters as a sponsorship of local talent by the Gnars DAO.
.5 ETH: Post Production Media -Pay photo and video editors to create content for us to share through the Gnars Network
WHAT WE PROVIDE
GOING FORWARD
I plan to take this concept and bring it across the United states and potentially globally. I want to travel and meet local skaters and provide them an opportunity to earn some money and network with people who love the same things as me. As this project of mine grows I would love to continually have Gnars involved in the events. As my credibility builds within the community I would like to extend this to the Nouns as well to help support the entire event (Musicians, Artists, Skaters, everyone.)
On a Larger scale, we have been actively pushing for a rehabilitation project at the location of this event- Logan BLVD Skate Park. This is one of the most well known parks in Chicago: a staple in the community here. The support behind this project has really grown legs- We have been meeting with city officials and raising funds to get the entire park redone and renovated. This is a project I would like to draw attention to for Gnars and the Nouns Dao on a later date. The opportunity for a collaboration between this project and the Gnars is huge- but that is a proposal for another day.

My take is that this feels a little bit rushed only ~9 days out from the event (I understand Chicago weather waits for no one). The events definitely look like something the DAO could get involved with but personally I'd like to see a bit more lead time so that the integration with Gnars can get a little further planning. I'd also support giving you more ETH but possibly setting something more permanent up, maybe some new speakers or marquee with some Gnars art on the side. October 13, 2022 5:23 AM (CDT)

Not a no from me, I'd just like more details fleshed out, i.e. what difference does Gnars sponsoring the event make on the Skate side of things. What are the current prizes, who is judging the event, will more riders take part if the prize money is larger, etc
