1. Pick a niche, that is unique and which isn't saturated. If you can't pick such a niche, focus on doing things in a very different/refreshing way.
  2. Find where the users who are interested in your niche hangout. Engage at a community level and add value individually 1-on-1.
  3. Be consistent.
  4. Get your audience to share your content. Create incentives to drive this behavior.
  5. People crave authenticity - that leads to credibility. Credibility >> distribution. Say the truth, be controversial, don't be diplomatic.
  6. Early adopters of a platform have a leg up.
  7. It should be fun for you, should feel like work for others.
  8. Always be creating & tinkering - you will eventually find something that works.

My thoughts -

  1. Not too sure about sticking to a specific niche - what if I change my interests in the future?
  2. Newsletter - will attract an audience that doesn't mind reading (founders, investors)
  3. Podcasts - will attract a larger audience, is more engaging, more glamour, as listening is easier than reading. Slightly harder to create content. I will not own my audience, it will always be on spotify/anchor etc.
  4. YouTube/video - will attract the largest audience base, very engaging. Hard to create content. YouTube will own my audience.
